Fall Colors Hit Ely a Week or Two after Northshore
We've had some cooler days in the past week and although we were swimming in late September (see picture below) it is definitely now Autumn. Our yellows are turning, following the reds and deep pinks of the maples of course. The north shore of Lake Superior has been about two weeks ahead of us. It is a great time to visit Ely, do some day tripping via canoe or even get in one last Boundary Waters Trip. The nights are crisp and the bugs are long gone. It's also a great time to take fresh food out if you don't mind the weight. Oh, and need we say more, the fish are a bitin!
