To take a Boundary Waters canoe trip, you must reserve an Entry Permit for a specific location on a specific date. There are many entry points to choose from. We are here to help you sift through all the routes and choose the permit/route that will best suit your crew. Once we have the permit taken care of, we can talk about any Canoe Rental/Partial Outfitting or Full Outfitting needs your crew may have.
*Permits are limited, so make sure to contact us as soon as you can.
There is a $6 Forest Service (FS) Reservation Fee plus an $8 Piragis Outfitting Service Fee (total $14), covering up to 9 people for your entire trip. In addition, there is a Forest Service user camping fee of $16 per adult per trip and $8 per youth 17 years old and under per trip. These fees must be paid when the permit reservation is made. Boundary Waters permits are issued on a daily basis for all locations and are more readily available for mid-week entry. All arrangements for your reservations will be made by us upon receipt of your trip plans. If you cancel your permit at least two days prior to your trip, you will be refunded all of the permit cost except the $6 FS Reservation Fee and a $14 Piragis processing fee.
-All of the above are enforceable United States Forest Service regulations.-
Remember to Leave No Trace while traveling through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in order to protect this special place for future generations.
